It seems that if politicians in Ottawa and the various Provinces are unclear on what the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms says, they should simply ask the people who wrote it. Instead, it seems as though they just don’t care what it says.
Brian Peckford is the former Premier of Newfoundland an Labrador. He joins us to talk about his court case against the Federal Government in which he makes the point that the imposed covid travel restrictions were unconstitutional and violated the charter rights of Canadians.
And he should know, as he is the last living First Minister who worked to negotiate the Canadian Constitution and to craft the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
